Once again in 2006, ABS is honoring select employees for their excellent service and noteworthy accomplishments.

This time around the spotlight shines on Amanda Harrell, a purchasing agent at ABS Georgia.

Less than three years ago, Amanda joined ABS as a temporary employee and was assigned to receptionist and inside sales duties. She assumed the purchasing duties back in March and her manager, Jonathan Lapkiewicz, says, “Amanda is doing a superb job.”

Jonathan praises her willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.

“Last spring, when I approached her about handling the purchasing duties, she jumped at the chance,” Jonathan reports. When Amanda started with ABS, she had no fastener experience, but she picked it up very quickly, he added.

“I love working at ABS,” Amanda says. “I really enjoy helping our customers and maintaining the level of stock to satisfy their needs. The working environment here is wonderful.

“I plan to stay here for a long, long time.”

That suits her manager just fine. “Amanda is a real people person,” Jonathan says. “Our customers and everyone in our division are happy she’s here.”

In her free time, Amanda enjoys visiting the Florida beaches. She is a big Florida Gators fan and loves to see them play in Gainesville when she can. Her favorite vacation destination? Las Vegas, which she has visited a few times.

“I’m not much of a gambler, but I like the fancy hotels and fabulous restaurants where I can relax and enjoy with friends,” Amanda says.
